If you are thinking about inviting me to come and conduct a short tem residency in your community please get in touch so we can plan ahead together. I can help you shape your thoughts and find funding.

School-based short term projects can be funded through Illinois Arts Council Quickstart grants which match dollar for dollar up to $2,000. Community-based projects can take advantage of the IAC STAR (Short Term Artist Residency) grant.

November is the time to start thinking about the following year for long term projects, to take advantage of the Illinois Arts Council's Arts-in-Education program. Grant deadline: Feb 15.

For a copy of the guidelines and grants visit the Illinois Arts Council.

For more good reasons for why the arts are important in education, check out a survey conducted with Ford Foundation support at the Keep Arts In Schools website.

For Teachers… CHECK OUT MY BRAINDANCE WORKSHOPS! This workshop has been VERY POPULAR this year. I have conducted sessions as short as 45 minutes and as long as 5 hours on this topic, for classroom teachers and providers who work with parents and children. The information is versatile, fun and important.

In other news....

As of 2006/7, I can be booked through the Kennedy Center's Partners in Education program, for early childhood - middle school teachers.

For Schools...
As a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Illinois, I directed a class in 2007-8 called “Lecture/Demonstration” in which dance majors construct a program to tour to the schools. This year's program, COMMON THREADS , toured to five local schools, worked with a girl scout troop and in two after school dance clubs. Contact me if you'd like to be notified about next year's activities
